What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic technique that uses hypnosis to help individuals access their subconscious mind in order to address various issues such as anxiety, stress, phobias, and unwanted behaviors. Hypnosis is a natural, relaxed state where the mind becomes highly focused and open to suggestions. In this state, the therapist can guide the client in reprogramming negative thought patterns, altering perceptions, and introducing positive behavioral changes.
Hypnotherapy is often used to help with issues like stress, performance anxiety, weight management, sleep disorders, and even breaking habits like smoking. By addressing underlying beliefs and fears in the subconscious, it provides a pathway for deep and lasting change, often more quickly than traditional therapy methods.
How does Hypnotherapy work?
Hypnosis is a state of deep relaxation and heightened focus, where your conscious mind becomes less active, allowing access to your subconscious mind. This is the part of the mind responsible for automatic behaviors, deeply ingrained beliefs, and emotional responses. In this state, you are more open to suggestions and new ways of thinking, which is why hypnosis is so effective for creating positive change.
During hypnosis, the brain transitions into a state between relaxation (Alpha brainwaves) and light sleep or deep meditation (Theta brainwaves). This relaxed yet focused state allows you to bypass the critical thinking of your conscious mind and work directly with the subconscious.
Everyone experiences hypnosis every day!
Many people don’t realize it, but we all enter a hypnotic state several times a day during routine activities. Hypnosis isn’t just something that happens in a therapy session—it’s a natural state of mind that we experience in everyday life, usually without even noticing.
Here are common examples of daily hypnosis:
Driving on Autopilot: Have you ever driven a familiar route, like your commute to work, only to arrive without remembering much of the journey? This is called "highway hypnosis," where your subconscious mind takes over routine tasks while your conscious mind drifts elsewhere.
Being Absorbed in a Book, Movie, or TV Show: When you’re deeply engrossed in a story, you may lose track of time or become emotionally involved, even though you know it’s fiction. This focused, trance-like state is another example of hypnosis in action.
These daily examples show that hypnosis is a natural part of how our brain functions, entering states of focused relaxation where the subconscious mind becomes more active. In therapeutic hypnotherapy, this natural ability is harnessed to create positive changes by working with the subconscious mind.
“Healing is a matter of time, but it is sometimes also a matter of opportunity."

My Approach.
Being trained as a Clinical Nutritionist I am able to truely integrate mind and body healing. Sometimes I may recommend a Nutritional consult first to assess for nutrient deficiencies and set some simple dietary changes in motion to work toward and then we begin working on mindset with hypnotherapy. Other times we may start with hypnotherapy initially to get you ready for change or increase motivation or will power and start to make little nutritional or lifestyle changes along the way. Every person is different.
By combining evidence-based nutritional guidance with the power of clinical hypnotherapy, I help clients overcome challenges such as anxiety, emotional eating, and weight management. Hypnotherapy allows individuals to access their subconscious mind, reprogram negative beliefs, and develop healthier habits, while tailored nutritional strategies support physical well-being. This dual approach not only fosters lasting change but also empowers clients to achieve their health goals in a balanced and sustainable way.
